A VERY useful App

MKC Central generic

If you use trains a lot, or have to meet people coming to the Milton Keynes stations – a must have app is that from National Rail.

I personally find it indispensable. I travel a lot to seminars and conferences, and it’s good to know where you train is – before heading to Milton Keynes Central, or en route. It’s often more accurate than the information supplied to station and train staff! My daughter & I were once returned from Birmingham, and as we left New Street were told that because of disruption, the train would only go as far as Northampton – and we’d have to see what happened there. This message was repeated a number of times.

But I had the app – it “reinstated” the service to MKC & beyond before we had arrived at Birmingham International. But it was 20 minutes later that the news was announced on the train.

Often you can check arrival and departure platforms – very useful if changing trains, I’ve found it particularly useful when approaching Birmingham New Street.

My wife also uses the trains a lot. I can warn her of upcoming delays – and relay the options available.

It is available free – and for a small one-off charge, advert free. I bought the app – it was well worth it.
